ABOUT US
Ridge Assembly of God began as a pressing call on the heart of Pastor Ed Keaton. As God began to reveal the place and the plan, Pastor Ed stepped forward in obedience. In 1998, there was little available space for rent in the Davenport area, so Pastor Keaton began holding meetings in their living room. Within a few months it was evident that that they needed to find a place to hold open meetings. During the first two years the congregation moved three times. Despite the changes, God’s blessings were evident as the church continued to grow. At the end of the first year the congregation purchased their first five acres of land on Highway 27, and by the end of the third year they were moving into their new sanctuary. In 2002, Ridge Christian Academy started a summer camp and preschool program with 13 children.
Since its start in 1998, Ridge Assembly has grown into a vibrant, multicultural body of believers. Pastor Ed often tells about the vision God gave him when he was a young boy and about how God is so wonderfully fulfilling that vision today. As a child, he saw people of many races and backgrounds worshiping God as one family of believers. Each Sunday believers from diverse cultures and nations come together to experience the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.
Today the church sits on 28 acres of land. In addition to the sanctuary built in 2001, there are two education wings that house Ridge Christian Academy. In 2009, a covered basketball pavilion as well as final plans for a new 800 seat worship center were completed. Pastor Ed is quick to state that each miracle and milestone is a testimony to the power and promises of God. Committed to ministry in the community and around the world, Ridge Assembly faithfully equips men and women to reach out to others through the power of the Holy Spirit.
